Welcome to the Staffinder tour.
Staffinder is designed to reduce the time wasted hunting around for
employees. Staffinder can help your receptionist improve customer
satisfaction by providing immediate, accurate, status information of
your employees. If you want the best In/Out board software
available then you are in the right place. Staffinder is unlike
any other scheduling software or employee tracking application
available. Staffinder also comes with several features to further
streamline your office productivity. This includes a resource
scheduler for booking time, a phone message system, and a vacation
scheduler so you can track who is gone.
In this tour you will find some of the more interesting features
that have made Staffinder a leader in In/Out board software since

Designed to be easy to learn and
use...
Designed around the Explorer model, Staffinder makes sense to new
and veteran PC users within minutes. We support right-clicking,
property screens, movable toolbars, resizable columns and a tray icon,
just like many of your existing applications do. Staffinder's
interface has been on the drawing board since 1996 and was designed
with users in mind. The main screen can be customized depending
on your preference. Check out the user manual for the various
customization options available.
Designed for easy administration...
We've looked at a handful of In
Out Board programs, most of which have a separate module for
configuring and administering the program. We chose a different
model, one that puts the administrative part of the program on every
desk. Employees assigned to administer Staffinder need an
administrative password to access the Setup screens. Considering
employee turnover and position changes, we felt this would help
minimize the need to reconfigure workstations as administrator are
added or removed. Below is a picture of our Setup screen, where
employees are added, reports are generated and more.
Customization...
No two people are the same,
right? With that in mind, we added user Preferences that allow
each person to choose how the program looks and works. Not happy
with the standard black text, then change it to blue, red, green or
whatever you like. Having a hard time reading the standard 12
point font, then make it 18 points if that suits you. In
all, there are over 20 different settings available to users.

Security...
One of the most important parts
of a multi-user application is its security. Staffinder has
always provided a level of security that allows users to determine
which users could change their status. We have responded to user
feedback by improving the robustness of the security settings.
Three things changed.... 1) we now allow users to give individual users
rights to change their status, 2) administrators can now set security
settings and 3) administrators can now lock security settings so users
cannot modify them. Below is a sample of the main security
screen.
Security has also been added to the
resource scheduler so you can restrict who can manage the schedules.
All users have the ability to view the schedules but you can limit who can
add or delete the individual events. Each resource can be configured
differently depending on it use. The resource security screen is
accessed via the setup screen after the resource has been added.
My Messages:
Staffinder contains 2 types of messages you can sent to employees. "While you were out" messages
are designed to eliminate the phone message pad common in offices.
Custom messages are designed to accommodate various messages you may
want to send to someone. Your messages can be saved and printed
out.
 
My Group: Now
you can create a personal list of employees from any department and be
able to view their status by clicking on "My Group" on the
main screen.
Resource Scheduler...
Staffinder comes with a resource scheduler so you can block
time against anything like conference rooms, equipment, or vehicles.
The resource scheduler has 2 views... Monthly and daily. Monthly
gives you a look at the entire month so you can see days ahead.
Double-click a day and you are taken to the day view where you see the
day broken down by time. Staffinder also allows you to schedule
recurring events for those events that happen on a regular basis.
Vacation Scheduler...
Staffinder now comes with a vacation scheduler so you can keep
track of
time off for your employees. This is an easy to use graphical
display that you can quickly get a visual indicator of who will be gone.
Also built into Staffinder is the vacation request process. This is
an effective way to track your requests and also to approve or disapprove
the requests. You can assign who is responsible for the requests in
the setup screen under the employee section. The person requesting
time off will
receive a message when their request has been approved or disapproved.
This is a view of the request screen that the user will
fill out when they need to take time off. They will have the option
of who to send the request to.
This is a view of the request that the
authorizing person will receive. If you have been designated as a
vacation administrator in the setup screen you will have a new item in the
navigation bar called "Vacation Requests". This list will contain
all the request that you have received. Once you approve or
disapprove them they will be returned to the requestor with the results.
Status Scheduler...
The new Status Scheduler Add-on will allow your users to create status
changes that occur in the future. You can now have your status
automatically change to show your current status even when your not in the
office. You can Queue as many as you like for as long as you
like. We made it simple too. When you install the add-on your users automatically get
access to the scheduler. No client installs are necessary.
There will be a new button on the In/Out Screen after installation that will allow access to
the status scheduler queue. Simply queue up your status changes and
let the server do the rest.
Other cool features...
Sometimes you just need to stop
thinking function and start thinking about "coolness
factor". To us, adding coolness to Staffinder meant finding
ways to add new functions that compliment the main In Out Board
functionality. So, without further ado, here is our way of saying
"Cool"!
Search: Have
you ever received a page with an unfamiliar employee extension
number on the display? Ever wished you could quickly figure
out who you were calling so you might have a chance to prepare for
the call? With Staffinder you can quickly perform searches on
extensions, pager numbers, cell numbers and names.
Do Not Disturb (DND): In some situations, you may
not want to be bothered if your in an important meeting or such.
You can easily set the "DND" indicator so your not interrupted for
non crucial events.
Notify when
In: In some urgent situations, you may need to talk to
another employee as soon as they get back to their desk.
Staffinder lets users set a "Notify when In" flag on any
other employee that informs them immediately when the needed
employee has signed back "In".
Email Employee:
You can now fire off an email using your default mail program.
Each user must have an email address specified in order to use this
feature.
